Show ORDINANCE NO. 78-18 BOUNTIFUL, A Municipal Corporation AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AMEND-ING TITLE X, CHAPTER 18, SECTION 22, OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF BOUNTIFUL, UTAH, 1965. AS AMENDED, RELATING TO RESISTING OR OBSTRUCTING OBSTRUCT-ING A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL IN PERFORMANCE PERFOR-MANCE OF HIS DUTY AND PROVIDING PENALTIES IN VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR-DINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BOUNTIFUL, BOUN-TIFUL, UTAH: Section 1. That Title X, Chapter 18, seection 22, of the Revised Ordinances of Bountiful, Boun-tiful, Utah, 1965, as amended, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 22. Resisting a Law Enforcement Official. a. It shall be unlawful for a person to wilfully: (1) Resist, obstruct or prevent a person recognized to be a law enforcement official from performing any authorized act or duty, or, affecting a lawful arrest or detention of such person or another, or (2) Fail or refuse to comply with any lawful order of a person recognized to be a law enforcement official. b. An offense under this'".,' section is a class B misdemeanor. Section 2. Conflict. All ordinances, or-dinances, resolutions, and orders or parts thereof in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are, to the extent ex-tent of such conflict, hereby repealed provided that such repeal shall not effect any act done or right accrued. Section 3. This Ordinance To Take Effect Upon First Publication. In the opinion of the City Council, it is necessary neces-sary to the peace, health, and safety of the inhabitants of Bountiful, that this ordinance take effect immediately.
