' , ' T ? , . ... -, , V -v S FARKMGTON WATER Completion of the Farmington Far-mington Pressurized Irrigation Irriga-tion System, funded by the Small Projects Reclamation Act which he sponsored in the Senate, was praised today by Senator Frank E. Moss who said the projects like the Farmington system are , meeting the needs of rapidly growing areas throughout the state. .. IN REMARKS made while touring the project with Congressman K. Gunn McKay and others, Moss said that Davis County and its people need and deserve every benefit that will come from the irrigation system. "There has never been enough water in Utah since the day Brigham Young led the pioneers down Emigration Emigra-tion Canyon into the Salt Lake Valley," he said, "We have had to develop every source of water we could find and to put every drop of beneficial use after we found it." HE THEN CITED several reclamation projects in Utah, such as the Hyrum Project, the Moon Lake Project, the Weber Basin Project and Joe's Valley Dam, he said, "Where would we be without them? In them lie our ability to continue to grow and prosper in Utah." "This is an important day for Davis County," Moss said, "and I am proud to be a part of it." |
