Show Rescued From fountain Fall j Craig Fowler, 20, and Allen :-i Nance, 19, were rescued after I i a fall from the summit of I Francis Peak by Davis 5 County Sheriff's department : and the South Davis Fire ; Department early Sunday. LT. DEAN EGBERT of the j sheriff's department said the ; youths had been throwing ;. snowballs near the Francis i Peak Radar Station when Fowler slipped off the edge of the summit. He fell SO to 100 feet, though not straight down, Lt. Egbert said. Nance, who attempted to rescue him, also slipped from the peak. ; THE OTHER three members of the group solicited solicit-ed assistance from the personnel per-sonnel at the radar station. Nance was able to climb out i without assistance. j Captain Larry Green of the sheriff's office rappelled down the cliff to administer first aid to Fowler. Fowler, tied to a stretcher, was hauled to the top. SGT. LARRY WARD of the Davis County Sheriff's Office and Larry Label! of the South Davis Fire Department assisted as-sisted in the rescue. Both Fowler and Nance were treated at the Lakeview Hospital and released. |
