This contest could well be a battle of fullbacks with Boun-tiful's Boun-tiful's Mark Dickerson going head to head with Layton's Curtis Page. Both are relied on heavily by their respective coaches. BOUNTIFUL, however, has other facets of their offense to compliment Mark while Page is involved in almost every play that the Lancers run. The big Lancer back has responded respond-ed well to the charge, against Ben Lomond for instance, the Lancer back rambled for 280 yards. Trying to stop this type of effort this week will be Boun-tiful's Boun-tiful's Player of the Week, Ron Bagley and Greg Bangeter. .Both players will be at the defensive tackle spot trying to clog up the middle. LANCER quarterback Ben Buback has a fine throwing arm and likes to throw the ball either over the middle to Page or long to his speedy receiver, Pete Dennis. With his speed Dennis could give the Braves secondary fits all day. Question mark for the Braves, or better yet, the key to a Brave victory could be the quarterback situation. Junior Chris Davies has really been improving with each week and is pushing hard for a shot at the varsity clubs. SPECULATION is that if senior Richard Welling has trouble moving the club, Davies will be inserted early. Complimenting Dickerson in the backfield will be Tommy Hilton, the Braves will need one of Hilton's best efforts this week for them to do a number on the Lancers. DEFENSIVELY for the Braves no one really knows who will be playing and who won't be, except the coaches that is. Two sure starters will be Bagley and Bangeter who will need to be at their best performance this week. Keeping in mind that Bountiful Boun-tiful has never lost at Layton since Paul Waite took over the program, and both teams realize the importance of this game, rate this one a toss up. |
