Peters of Bountiful Boun-tiful has been named grassroots coordinator of Davis County for the Romney for Governor Committee. THE ANNOUNCEMENT was made this week by Attorney Attor-ney General Vernon B. Romney, Rom-ney, candidate for governor of Utah. Mr. Romney said, "I'm very pleased to have someone of the caliber of Bill Peters joining with us for our campaign cam-paign in Davis County." IN ACCEPTING the assignment, assign-ment, Mr. Peters said, "It's a real privilege to be asked to serve on the campaign of our future governor and I would like to use this opportunity to urge everyone in Davis County to exercise their freedom to vote on Nov. 2." Mr. Peters is a former Davis County Sheriff and was recently released as bishop of the LDS Orchard Sixth Ward. He and his wife have four children. MR. ROMNEY is Utah's highest-ranking elected Republican official and has served as Attorney General of Utah for the past eight years. "My experience as Attorney General has given me the opportunity op-portunity of being involved in helping Utah govern itself and, as Governor, I would continue to work for the rights of Utah", Mr. Romney said. "My accomplishments as Attorney General show my accountability to the citizens of Utah and I am proud to have this record to offer the voters this year. The people of Utah have every right to know what to expect from their candidates can-didates for public office." |
