Show Carter And Playboy l After hearing Jimmy Carter's supporters defending him on his interview with "Playboy Magazine", I decided decid-ed maybe I had the wrong opinion. THEY HAD SAID Playboy was not all that filthy. I ob-j tained a copy to read on my lunch hour. I turned to Jimmy's page and read his interview, then I went a few. pages further to see what the rest of "Playboy" was like. I threw up the lunch I'd had, took the "Plyaboy" to the j trash (where it belonged) and burned it. The choice of words ! ; Jimmy's people used was "not i all that filthy" : MY CHOICE OF words is that it is very, very, very filthy; very obscene; very vulgar; and very disgusting. I have always had respect res-pect and love for the President of our great country, but I can't imagine myself having any love or respect for a person per-son who would allow himself to have his name and picture j in the same magazine with a naked woman making all kinds of obscene and vulgar gestures. I STILL can't imagine a. i man who has a family and claims to be religious allowing that interview in that magazine. I will also find it difficult to cast my vote for any state candidate on the Democratic Party who does not publicly condemn Jimmy Carter for this interview. I ALSO QUESTION the wisdom wis-dom of the Utah Education Association who claim to be interested in the teaching and welfare of our youth to invite Jimmy to speak at their convention con-vention and to endorse him as President. I worked in the PTA many years and was on the Obscenity Committee to keep filth from our youth, and "Playboy" was high on the list of materials to be banned. IT SEEMS A little strange to me that someone who has appeared ap-peared in a filthy magazine would be invited to speak at a teacher's convention. Some who read this will accuse ac-cuse me of narrow-mindedness, being old-fashioned, out of it, behind the times, and such. In this case, I would thank them for the compliment. Donna R.
