Show APPROPRIATIONS ARE CUT DOWN BY BOARD Branch Agricultural College Granted $59,800; Other Requests Are Pruned. Appropriation for the Branch Agricultural Agri-cultural college was cut yesterdav bv the joint, appropriations committee of the legislature from $72,S1;j asked to $-j!l,S0ll. It was agreed by the committee to include in the general appropriations bill an allowance of ifSUOO to reimburse those who put up money for relief of dependent families of members of the national guard of I tah who did border service auntig the Alexican trouble, so, in view of this, the committee decided to report unfavorably on the house bill providing for a speiiial appropriation for this purpose. The allowance for the state mental hospital was trimmed considerably. Allowances Al-lowances were made as follows: "Maintenance, "Main-tenance, $17.),000; repairs. $10,000: furniture, fur-niture, .:it"H; drainage of farm lands, $1000; insurance, jil-IO; electro-hydro-therapeutie work, $2-100. Allowances were made to the state board of corrections for the state prison as follows: Maintenance, $131,0315; gratuities, $4000; improvements, $4000; convict .'camps, $40,000; insurance, .$6000. |
