The George Washington created somewhat some-what of a sensation with Us strike of high-grade copper and silver ore in the upper tunnel late last week, says the Chloride (Ariz.) Herald. The tunnel is in 120 feet and the find was made at a point where the vein which the tunnel has been following swerved across the path of the tunnel, permitting exploration explora-tion without changing the course of the latter working. Latest reports indicated a find of four feet of a. good grade of copper and silver ore, with an eighteen-inch streak assaying assay-ing SS per cent copper and seventy-six ounces silver to the ton. This strike, which was made only a short distance from the Bobby Burns claims of the Arizona Chloride, adds increased in-creased interest to the latter, especially in view of the fact that development on a more liberal scale is just being inaugurated in-augurated under the supervision of F. W. Jacques, the new superintendent of the Arizona Chloride, arid further that the Bobby Burns tunnel only a few days ago broke irito copper ore of an excellent grade. |
