Show Coffee Futures. NEW YORK. Feb. 14. The market for coffee futures was-steadier today on covering cov-ering and a moderate demand from trade sourr-es which may possibly have been inspired bv uneasiness over ocean freight conditions! The opening was unchanged to two points higher and trading was very quiet at the start. Business later improved, however, with May selling up from S.16c to 8. 26c and September from 8.32c to 8. 44c, or about eleven to eighteen eigh-teen points net higher on the general list. Closing prices were a shade off from the best under realizing. showing a net advance of seven to seventeen points? Sales were reported of 61,500 bags. Spot coffee, unchanged; Rio 7s. 10c: Santos 4s, 1014c. Few fresh offers were reported in the cost and freight market, with 4s quoted around 10 cents, London credits. The official cables reported a decline of 75 reis at Rto, with Santos futures 25 to 50 reis higher. |
