Show Noted Water Color Artist to Appear at C S U Summer School Session as Visiting Instructor Art students wno attend the annual an-nual summer school sessions at the College of Southern Utah this year will have a rare opportunity opportuni-ty to study under one of the nation's na-tion's top water color artists. Harry Leith-Ross, New Hope, Pa., member of the National Academy Aca-demy of Design and the Ameri- can Water Color Society, will be ! a member of the summer school staff, Dr. Royden C. Braithwaite, C S U director, announces. Mr. Leith-Ross, who for a number num-ber of years has exhibited his works in the annual Cedar City art exhibit, will begin classes at C S U on June G. However, he will arrive in Cedar City at least two weeks before the opening of the summer session to become acquainted ac-quainted with the scenic areas of this part of the state, and to spend some time making sketches. sketch-es. A number of the famed artist's ar-tist's works, purchased from the annual local exhibits, are owned in Cedar City. Studied in Paris Mr. Leith-Ross, who was born in Mauritius, a British colony, and came to the United States at the age of seven, studied in Paris under Delecluse and Laur-ans Laur-ans and at the school of Stanhope Stan-hope Forbes, R. A., Cornwall, England. He has also studied at the Art Students League In New York, and for a number of years before he started doing water color, col-or, served as a commercial artist. |
