The new officers are Frank Knell, president; Marva Carter, vice president, and Eleanor Elea-nor Grlmshaw, secretary. We feel confident that the new officers are capable and will do a good job. J Barbara Caddie, speech and drama teacher, has received the results of our activities at the state speech meet. The state speech meet was held at the B. Y. U. In Provo on April 9. Richard Rich-ard Jameson received a superior rating for his pantlmime. Superior Super-ior is the highest rating. The one act play that Jackie Winterrose, Lois Elliott and Lois Mecham took ta the -state meet received honorable mention. ' Eight high school students will attend a Poetry Festival that will be held at the Utah State Agricultural Agri-cultural College at Logan. The festival will be held Saturday, April 23. The students are Karen Oldroyd, Nancy Dlx, Lois Elliott, Jackie Winterrose, Jerry Campbell, Camp-bell, Ronnie Mclntyre, Layne Nlelson and Dallas Isom. The widely publicized high school U N Model Assembly held last Friday and Saturday at the University of Utah was attended by some Cedar City students. Cedar City delegates to the U N Model Assembly were Wesley Bryant, spokesman; Larry Olson. Myna Walker, Alyce Cane and Bernett Baldwin. Observers were Margene Isom and Joan Nelson. Our delegates represented the Republic Re-public of Haiti. Last Wednesday we had two assemblies. The P-TA gave Ms annual assembly at 9 a. m. Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon. The home economics eco-nomics department under the direction di-rection of Neta Seegmiller presented pre-sented the yearly fashion show. The models were high school girls who wore clothes that they had rmdft themselves. |
