Show CSU Students Prepare Greek Dramas With a cast of 25 students participating, par-ticipating, the cycle of two Greek plays, "Oedipus the King" and "'Antigone," will be presented in the new College of Southern Utah auditorium Thursday and Friday nights. Under the direction of Prof. Richard M. Rowley, the two great plays of Sophocles will be the first dramatic production in the new building. Curtain time is set for 8 each evening. Beth performances per-formances are open to the public as well as college and high school students, with no special student night set aside. The two plays, which will run a little over an hour each, have been adapted for use on the modern mod-ern stage, with a special acting version of the script prepared by Professor Rowley. The staging stag-ing will be dane in the traditional tradi-tional classic Greek manner with a chorus and using an adaptation adapta-tion of the ancient Greek stage. An imposing stage setting has-been has-been designed especially for these productions, and has been Taullt by members of the play production classes. Costumes have been designed and constructed con-structed by Sherlene Jensen. Enterprise, En-terprise, from authentic Greek styles, and are highly colorful. Choreography for the chorus has been worked out by Sherma Ann Huntington, Cedar City, student dance instructor at C S U. Heading the cast 'of "Oedipus the King." is Keith Tattersall, Beaver, in the title role. Playing -!. Mm la Fwa loan Prvor, also of Beaver, as Jocasta, and Clark Ronnow, Panaca, Nev., is Creon. Title role In "Antigone" is played by Fern Johnson, Cedar City. As Creon, the King of Thebes, The-bes, is Lane Ronnow, Panaca, Nev., with Sonya Nielson, Monroe, Mon-roe, as Ismene. Others in the cast include Lloyd DeMille, Cedar City; Carol Ann Matheson, Melvin Mitchell and Charles Topham, Parowan; Darlene May and Dale Workman, -i.-. cn.,o Pn7Plle.
