Show Detailed Convention Plans Studied By Elk Committeemen Detailed plans for the annual convention of the Utah State Elks Association, to be hld in Cedar City on May 26, 27 and 28, were approved Tuesday night, and committees are completing their preparations, according to Steve Asmus, general chairman. The work of some of the com-mitees com-mitees is already completed, he said, and others are working on details as rapidly as possible, in preparation for an expected heavy hea-vy attendance. Unusual features of this year's convention, Mr. Asmus says, will revolve around the new home of the Cedar City Lodge, No. 1556, host club. One will be a public open house at the lodge on the opening day of the convention, and the other the official dedication dedica-tion of the home on the final day. The public will be Invited to visit the lodge for a conducted tour through the building from 6 to 8 p. m. on Thursday, April 26. Registration will start at noon of that day, and immediately following fol-lowing the public inspection of the building, official convention activities will begin. The dedication of the building will take place on Saturday afternoon, af-ternoon, May 28, and the convention con-vention will be concluded that evening with the annual Exalted Ruler's banquet and dance. Warren War-ren II. Bulloch, deputy grand ex-alted ex-alted rular, will be in charge of the dedication ceremonies. |
