Show Sales Figures Told For County Savings Bond Drive Sales of series E and H savings bonds amounted to $8,818 in Iron County during March, according ac-cording to Ray P. Dyrng, district savings bonds chairman. Total sales for the first quarter were $23,138, or 19.7 percent of the county's 1955 quota, he reported. Total March sales of E and H bonds throughout the state were $1,891,501, an increase of 29 percent per-cent over February sales. March sales were good, but overall sales for the year to date are not up to expectations nor quota according accord-ing to Clem S. Schramm, state sales director. Highest percent of quota of sales for the first quarter was obtained bv the Coalville District (Summit District) with 51.1 per cent of their 1955 quota being reached. Other counties which are running run-ning ahead of the three-months sales average are: Cache, 40rr; Salt Lake, 25.7 t; San Juan, Washington, 27.1 Cr. "National sales," Schramm pointed out. "during the first quarter of 1955 have exceeded all redemptions by $103 million, leaving a total of 38.9 billion In series E and H bonds In the hands of the public. In the Vhort period of 14 years that series E and H savings bonds have been sold, almost $39 billion are still owned by around 45 million people." |
