The third dose of vac cine will have to be obtained from your family doctor approxl mately sevon months ater th second dose is given. The Nation al Foundation will offer a boostci dose to those children who ac tuallv received the vaccine ir the 1954 field trials. The above program will re quire a large amount of thi available vaccine so the Southen Utah Medical Society has dcrtde to use the remaining vaccine fo those children from three to I years ot age, as over 50 per cen of the clinical Infantile paraly sis occurs in this age group. Thl restriction will be for the remain der of April and the month o May, at which time it is hope that the supply will be able t cope with the demand. This vaccine has been develop ed by the ceaseless and tireles efforts of many people am should prove another step for ward for all mankind. Let us no degrade this most recent achieve ment by selfish and hysterical at tempts to blackmarket the vac cine, for it is believed there wll be an ample supply avallabl in the near future, said Dr. T. K Edmunds, local representative o the society. |
