Show Economic Status j OfBPW Selected for Review "The Economic Strength of I Business and Professional Wo-j Wo-j men," a book compiled as the ; result of an intensive survey j conducted by the National Fed-i Fed-i eration of BPW Club's, Inc. will )be the subject of the Wednesday evening meeting of the local BPW Club on April. 27. 1 Officers of the local club have also revealed that they will present pre-sent the publication to the Cedar City Public Library. . Miss Margaret Rawalt, president presi-dent of the Federation, has stated stat-ed that the findings will be used as basis of future action to serve all employed women. Some of the facts obtained from the survey reveal some highly interesting points. For instance, in-stance, as a group, members of the National Federation of BPW Clubs earn more than do women of the US as a whole, engaged in similar pursuits. However, their earnings fall below thire of men in the same occupations. The average av-erage income is $3,000. According to the informative publication the fifties are a critical age for women workers, particularly those who do not have special training. At this critical occupational age, the book points out, competition from younger women runs high. Another factor revealed is that business and professional women wo-men contribute heavily to the support of their families. They also rank high as Investors in businesses, real estate, stocks and bonds, annuities, Insurance and government bonds. |
