Show Elder Stirling Sill ToPresideat Stake Conference Elder Sterling W. Sill, assistant assist-ant to the quorum of Twelve Apostles of the L D S church, will represent the general authorities au-thorities of the church at the quarterly conference of the Parowan Paro-wan Stake on Saturday and Sunday, Sun-day, April 30 and and May 1, it was announced by V. Clair Rowley, Row-ley, stake president, the first of the week. Pres. Rowley stated that this conference will feature stake missionary mis-sionary work and a special meeting meet-ing of ward and stake workers who are connected with this work will open the conference at 6:30 p. m. Saturday. This meeting will be followed by a Priesthood lead-prshin lead-prshin Kfssion at 8 r. m.. with both meetings to be held in the First-Second Ward chapel. General sessions of the conference con-ference will be held at 10 a. m. and 2 p. m. on Sunday in the Third Ward chapel and a special effort is being made to have 50 per cent of the stake membership present at these meetings. President Presi-dent Rowley states that the loud speaker system of the chapel will be extended to the Relief Society and other rooms of the chapel so that all who attend may hear the speakers. The stake presidency presi-dency has enlisted the aid of all ward bishoprics in the drive for a 50 per cent attendance at this conference. Business to be transacted at the conference will be the setting apart of new bishoprics for the Parowan Second and Enoch wards of the stake, Pres. Rowley states. Music for the Sundav gen eral sessions will be furnished by the Parowan Third Ward choir under the direction of Ra-mona Ra-mona Stubbs. The MIA session of the conference con-ference will be held at 7:30 p. m. Sunday, the program for which will be announced next week. |
