Show Commissioners Agree to Keep Nurse Plan At the April meeting of the Board of Iron County Commissioners, Commis-sioners, held in Parowan Friday, the board agreed with the State Board of Health to continue the public health nursing program, and appropriated funds for the program. The commissioners' agreed to continue the program on the present basis of two, nurses, with the county approp-1 dating $2,738.88 to help defray the costs, with the school dis-' trict providing an equal amount and the State Health Department meeting all remaining costs. The board also appropriated funds for use in Improving the Main Street of Summit, which is used as a right-of-way for Highway High-way 91. A delegation of Summit people met with the board and asked that an appropriation of funds be made to defray the cost of laying concrete walks on the south side of the street. An appropriation ap-propriation of $1500 was made for the purpose with the provision that Summit people match that amount in labor. ' A request by the Forest Service for an extermination order for wild horses running on forest lands of the county, was refused by the commissioners. 'The refusal re-fusal was based on the belief that the number of horses running run-ning on the public domain Is not excessive and that they -are as valuable as some game animals. L. A. Burascano, Cedar City, and Mrs. Ethel J. Lund, Modcna. were re-appointed as members of the Iron County Tublic Welfare Board. Both are Republicans. Commissioner Lyman Sevy was appointed as Iron County representative repre-sentative to the Associated Civic Clubs of Southern Utah, and County Clerk W. Clair Rowley was designated as the county official of-ficial to receive and disburse civil Defense funds, and to handle other fiscal transactions In Federal, Fed-eral, state and local defense matters. mat-ters. May 16 was fixed as the day for final tax sale for 1955 of property on which taxes have not been paid. Steps were also taken to begin an audit of county financial fi-nancial records. The county clerk was instructed to make arrangements arrange-ments for the audit. |
