Show Frank Knell Elected President Of Cedar High School Party politics went down the drain at the Cedar City High School last Friday when students conducted the election of officers for the 1955-56 school year. A split of the three contested positions po-sitions on the two parties, indicated indi-cated a popular choice in all cases. Winning the nod In the very close competition for president of the school was Frank Knell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Page Knell. Mar-va Mar-va Carter, an opposing ticket candidate, can-didate, won the vice presidential presiden-tial post and Eleanor Grimshaw was elected secretary. Marva is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carter and Mr. and Mrs. George W. Grimshaw are the proud parents of Eleanor. Balloting was conducted all day Friday following an election assembly Friday morning at which time candidates for the positions po-sitions were presented for student stu-dent approval." Balloting was secret, conforming conform-ing to the democratic standarl. and only registered students of the three classes, senior, junior and sophomore, were allowed to cast ballots. This three-some will take over office at the beginning of school next fall. Morris Slack, Incumbent Incum-bent president will serve through the remainder of the current school year. |
