Show Jaycee City Clean-up ! Efforts Directed at Rubbish As the final days in the annual an-nual Clean-up, Paint-up and Fix-up Fix-up week draw near, Lester Hey-borne, Hey-borne, chairman of the event, reminded residents that pick-pp of refuse will begin Saturday and continue through Sunday, April 23 and 24. Residents wno nave cleaned up their yards and who have been unable to haul off the rubbish are encouraged to place the debris de-bris on the curb and properly anchor it until the Junior Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce can call to haul it off. All Jaycees will be on hand in the final two days of the week-long week-long campaign to carry off the rubbish in a fast and efficient manner, Heyborne said. Vehicles and equipment will be on hand on those two days. An Important part of the spring clean up in the city, Heyborne pointed out, the Clean-up, Paint-up Paint-up and Fix-up drive is staged each year to help resldens shine the city for oncoming months. Not only is it Important from a sanitation standpoint to eliminate elim-inate rubbish and unsightly refuse re-fuse from our yards and streets, but, as a tourist center, the cleanliness clean-liness of the city can help sell the area to those who visit during dur-ing the spring and summer. |
