Show yUTAH STATlY What good are signals, anyway? any-way? They may save your life! That Is, if you use them properly. Before Be-fore you turn or change lanes, before you stop (unless it's an emergency) make sure that you can do so safely, and then tell other drivers or pedestrians what you intend to do by giving the proper signal, because if you do not, you may get hit or may hit someone else. In other words, I failure to signal is the "makings" for an accident. Signals to be given at least 100 feet before you turn, consist of the arm out and upward for a right turn; arm extended straight out for a left turn, and arm out and downward for a stop or decrease de-crease in speed. Signals, to be useful, must be made before you start to turn. The horn on your car is another an-other signal to be used for warning purposes and it is not Intended to take the place of the brake. |
