Show i Telephone Worker Transfers to Provo Central Office Ralph J. Box, who has been wire chief for the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company in the Cedar City exchange ex-change for a number of years, is transfering to Provo, effective May 1, to assume the responsibilities responsi-bilities of acting central office foreman for the company. Truman Tru-man H. Lyon will succeed Mr. Box as active wire chief here. Mr. Box started with the company com-pany on Oct. 17, 1936, as janitor at the Price exchange. He served in this capacity until Mar. 16, 1938. He w'as promoted to combination com-bination man and then transferred transfer-red to Codar City as wire chief. He has been with the Cedar City exchange since Oct. 7, 1946. Mr. Box, his wife Theda, and four children, Claudette, Elyce Ra Jean, and Edward, have been residents of Cedar City for the past eight years. He is a member of the Lions Club and has served as past master of the Masonic lodge. He also has been active in the soft-ball soft-ball and Little League baseball functions. His friends and co-workers honored him a a farewell party which was held at Milt's Stage Stop in Cedar Canyon on the eve-ring eve-ring of April 23, at which time they presented him with a clock radio. |
