Show Proclamation WHEREAS it is appropriate and desirable that we devote one clay each year to a public expression expres-sion of respect for men and women wo-men who demonstrate their patriotic pa-triotic devotion to the Nation by service in the Armed Forces of the United States, and WHEREAS THE THIRD SATURDAY SAT-URDAY IN MAY HAS BEEN DESIGNATED DES-IGNATED FOR THE OBSERVANCE OBSERV-ANCE OF ARMEb FORCES DAY. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Arnold E. Anderson, Mayor of Cedar City, Utah, do hereby proclaim that Saturday, May 15, 1954 shall be recognized in Cedar City, Utah as Armed Forces Day. I invite all groups of patriotic citizens, including veterans', women's wo-men's fraternal, educational, religious, re-ligious, commercial, labor and industrial organizations, to par-tic'pate par-tic'pate actively in the Armed Forces Day program in their communities, com-munities, to the end that we may join in honoring the Armed Forces and in emphasizing the diiect relationship of each citizen citi-zen to the Nation's continuing effort for peace with freedom through the strength of united people.
