Show Region Six Holds 1 Congregate Of Top Performers The Region Six track and field meet will be held Friday in Hurricane Hur-ricane with teams from all the schools of the region, Delta, Millard, Beaver, Milford, Paro-wan, Paro-wan, Cedar, Enterprise, Dixie, Hurricane, Kanab, and Valley high school participating. Performances of track and field teams of the state to date indicate indi-cate that there is more strength concentrated in Region Six this year than in any other section of the state. Results of the B Y U invitational meet, and times recorded re-corded in other meets of the state, indicate that although there are many good boys performing in all parts of the state, there are more balance and more all-round all-round strength in Region Six t!ni anywhere. This does not necessarily mean that teams from the region will run away with the state meet two weeks hence, but it does me:in that an excellent meet is in store for those who attend the region meet at Hurricane on Fridav. With Delta, Millard, Beaver and Cedar, particularly, very evenly matched many excellent performers will bp eliminated from state competition when they tangle at Hurricane. In order or-der to get into the state meet athletes must place in their Re- f.ion. Competition in this region could mean that some boys may be ( liminated who could defeat j winners in other regions. In orVi-or orVi-or words, some of the Region Six schools may lose almost certain state meet points at the region I meet this week. Glen Jackson. Coach at the Cedar Ce-dar City High School, has entered 39 men in the meet Friday, and it can be expected that some of the other schools, especially Mil- lard. Delta and Beaver, and perhaps per-haps Dixie, will have equally large representations. Although the other schools of the region will not have as many entries they will be represented by outstanding out-standing performers. |
