Show Recent Storm Proves Beneficial To Parowan Valley The rain and snow storm that covered most of the state last Friday and Saturday proved very beneficial to Parowan valley and caused very little damage to the fruit crop although the thermometer thermo-meter dropped to a low of 23 degrees de-grees on Saturday night according accord-ing to J. Clayton Rasmussen, local lo-cal weather observer. A total of 1.09 inches of water came in the storm just when the crops were starting to show the long dry period during the month, and while it was feared that the fruit crop would be destroyed it now appears that very little damage was done. It killed what few apricots there were left from an earlier frost, and also some of the cherry crop but the apples and pears weren't damaged too much, and unless Hter frosts come prospects are good for a bounteous crop of these fruits. |
