Show Instructor Line-up Announced As College Prepares for '54-'55 Season Dr. Daryl Chase, director, College Col-lege of Southern Utah, announces ! that a number of changes have been made in the college staff for next year, with two vacancies filled and a number of faculty members returning to the college. col-lege. Miss Jennie Jones, head of the secretarial science department, has been released to fill an L D S mission, and Mrs. Carol Johnson, well known commercial teacher in this area, ha been employed to fill the vacancy. Mrs. Johnson, who fcr a number of years did an outstanding job in the Cedar City High School, is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, and has done graduate work at the University of Wisconsin and the University of California. Another new member of the CSU faculty next year will be Miss Jayne Winters of Salt Lake City, a niece of U. S. Senator Wallace F. Bennett. Miss Winters, Win-ters, who is a graduate of the University of Utah, and has been doing graduate work there, will itudy at Cornell University this summer. She has also had experience ex-perience in Washington, D. C. She will replace Miss Leah Zollinger Zol-linger in the clothing department. depart-ment. It is understood that Miss Zo'llnger will accept a position in business. I It was previously announced that Gaell Lindstrom, prominent Utah artist and former art instructor in-structor at the Cedar City High School, will join the faculty at the college next winter. Three faculty members who have been on leave of absence will also return to the college in September. They include, Glen Wahlauist, Richard M. Rowley, and Edwin L. Peterson. Wahlquist, who has been work-ing work-ing in the Point Four program in Iran for the past two years, will return to the biological science sci-ence department. Peterson, who has been studying at the University Univer-sity of California at Los Angeles, wr rking toward his doctor's degree, de-gree, will return to head the political science department. Mr. Rowley, who has studied at Stanford Stan-ford University, will return to the English department. Two other vacancies remain to be filled, Dr. Chase states, both in the physical education department. depart-ment. A replacement for Dave Gates, football coach, has not yet been signed. Gates resigned recently to accept a teaching position po-sition in Ari7xna. Miss Ann Lamb, women's physical phy-sical education instructor, has resigned, and as yet a replacement replace-ment has not been found for her. The director also announces the appointment of Ward Robb as registrar at the college. He will replace J. H. Plummer of this responsibility re-sponsibility in order that Mr. Plummer might devote his entire time to the responsibilities of dean of students.
