Show 115 GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS the results obtained from the survey of these communities the following general recommendations are made From (1) It is that a coordinated Recreation recommended Commission be formed whereby both school areas would be made efficiency economy and city owned property and available This would promote harmony in the public recreation programs of the communities in this survey (2) The mill age tax as a source of financial support is strongly recommended for all these cities This would -- aid in solving the following problems: (a) The recreation department and school would share alike in financing the recreation programs no undue burden of expense would be levied on either (b) Adequate financial support would be assured for the planning and carrying of a building program over a period of years even though for political reasons administration might change establish funds for a well planned-buildin- g program for additional club and shelter houses (c) r and I It would for municipal swimming f pools It is recommended that the per capita amount of financial support be raised to a minimum of one dollar Such additional revenue vould make possible the employment (3) of necessary personnel I I the and the supplying of needed areas |
