Show Zippro announces retirement as emergency services head I i L FARMINGTON - John Zippro, director of Davis County Emergency Emergen-cy Preparedness for the past 19 years, submitted his letter of retirement retire-ment from this post, effective March Mar-ch 1. Zippro, who has directed county emergency programs and assisted with the coordination of city emergency preparedness programs throughout the county for the past several years, was also honored by top-ranking state officials. He was presented a letter of commendation by Gov. Norman H. Bangerter and received praise from the governor and from other top aides for his dedicated service. Zippro also was presented a plaque from state officials expressing 4 ' sincere appreciation for his faithful and dedicated service to the public in this critical field. As director of Davis County Emergency Services, Zippro was instrumental in the prevention and cleanup of flooding which struck Davis County in 1983 and 1984. 'Efforts by Zippro helped to save lives, reduce suffering and saved property," the letter from Gov. Bangerter stated. The letter also noted that Davis County's flood efforts, directed by JOHN ZIPPRO Zippro, were acclaimed by the Federal Fed-eral Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and were distributed throughout the nation.' "Congratulations for a job well done' the letter concluded. |
