Show Braves host Granite after loss to Jordan point shots, to give the 'Diggers the spurt they needed to defeat the Braves 74-57. Bountiful played Judge on the Braves court last night, leaving only five Region Six games before the state playoffs begin. Thus, the floundering Braves will have their hands full to gain a playoff berth. Bountiful and Jordan were tied at 29 at intermission, and the Braves 1 By GARY BLODGETT Sports Editor SANDY - The highly ranked Jordan Beetdiggers had little trouble beating Bountiful Highs Braves here Friday night, despite the loss of Jordan's Ryan Williams due to injuries. Hadden Frasier picked up the slack as a starter and rallied for 20 points, including three outside 3- I still had a shot at winning the game until midway in the final stanza even though the Beetdiggers led by seven at the close of the third period. After falling far behind in the second se-cond half, the Braves had to resort to ball-control fouling and a quick-paced quick-paced offense to try to stay in the game. Jordan led by seven at the end of three periods, but ourt scored .the Braves 27-17 in the final jarter. In addition to Frasier's 20 points, Tueller had 14 counters and Shatz was close behind with 13. Austin Lindsay with 1 4 and Jeremy O'Brien with 13 points led the scoring scor-ing attack for Bountiful. Lindsay also hit the team's only three 3-point 3-point shots. Hitting from inside and out - including in-cluding seven 3 -point bombs Jordan Jor-dan dominated the offensive action. The Beetdiggers hit 20 goals and 23-33 from the charity stripe. Bountiful Boun-tiful tallied 17 goals and 20-30 from the lane. Bountiful hosted Judge last night and will play Granite on the Braves' court Friday night at 7:30 p.m. |
