Show New Davis Ski School session begins Feb. 10 By GARY BLODGETT Sports Editor The second session of Davis County's 28th Annual Ski School will begin Feb. 10 with registration scheduled Saturday, Feb. 3. The ski school started in 1961 with one busload of students and two instructors, according to Russell Whitaker, who has been director direc-tor of the annual event since the beginning. He said 40 to 50 instructors are now needed to handle classes which are limited to 10 persons, 10 years of age and older. "During the nearly three decades of being in the business more than 16,000 have received on-the-slope instruction," said Whitaker. "Now were getting third-generation skiers." Davis County Ski School is still using the same slopes for its classes Snow Basin east of Ogden and Alta east of Salt Lake City. Registration for the second session this year is Saturday, Feb. 3, at four Davis County sites. Signup will be from 10 a.m until 6 p.m. at Village Sports Den, 365 N. Main, Bountiful; Farrnington City Office, Farrnington; Clearfield Swim Pool, Clearfield; and at the Johnson residence, 5539 S. 2200 W., Roy. You must furnish your own transportation for $40 per session. Package No. 3 provides transportation only to either resort for $55 per session. "These fees do not include lift passes,' he said, "but Davis County Coun-ty Ski School students will receive reduced-price lift passes."
