Advent of Winter Is to Record WewGaiety SNOW silhouetting mountain peaks and drifting down into Salt Lake valley, together with chilling blasts and the appearance of November on the year's calendar, marks the end of golden gol-den autumn days and out-of-door joys. The Country club, recently so charming charm-ing in its fall setting of russet, red and yellow foliage, is new growing bleak and while always cheery indoors, with its open fires, its popularity for entertaining en-tertaining is perhaps past, until springtime spring-time comes again. One of the largest functions of the season, in which a delightful air of hospitality prevailed, was given at the Country club the past week when Mrs. J. C. Woeter introduced the bride of her son, Lloyd Wester, to her Salt Lake friends at a tea Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Lloyd Weeter. formerly Miss Agnes Ag-nes Keid of Baltimore, a charming little southern woman, will be a great addition to Salt Lake society. The ball with its historic prestige of thirty-five years will bo particularly interesting this year ou account of its interruption by the war and tho epidemic of last winter, win-ter, which put a damper on social festivity fes-tivity for such a long period. The I advance sale of tickets has been large and Salt Lake society will be extensively exten-sively reprerented from the dignity of staid men and matrons to the frivolous young beaux and debutantes.
