Brown, wholesale manager man-ager of the Botterill Automobile company, com-pany, has just returned from a conference confer-ence with O. II. MeCornack general sales manager of the Hudsou Motor tar company at Denver. " M r. M.-Coniaek was exceedingly-optimistic regarding the future of both .Hudson Super Sixes and Essex cars " said -Mr. Brown. "He told us that by the tune he returned to the factorv the I J.ssex would be in its own $10,000 000 I plant and producing at a high rate. I 'He declared that the popularity of! the, Essex had far outstripped the ex-I portations of the manufacturers. As proof of this he cited the fact that between January 15 and August 7, the I'.ssex company had sold more than OHO cars, although the lissox had not been known prior to tho first of this year. He stopped at Rock Springs- to visit the Western Auto Transit company, com-pany, the Hudson ami Essex dealer for that part of Wyoming. Illustrating the sentiment regarding the Hudson and Essex in that territory, terri-tory, Mr. Brown repeated a Btory told him by Mr. Galliard; Tho driver of a Hudson on a typical Wyoming road noticed a little green car ahead of him and decided to catch up with it and pass it. His task proved to be decidedly difficult, for the smaller car kept ahead mile after mile. Finally the bigger car won the race, whereupon the driver of the smaller car laughingly gave way, shouting out as the Hudson owner passed: "It's an Essex, and the only car that can pass it is a Hudson.
