Show 'SScSs' Alteration in Design and Building Look to Further Fur-ther Refinements. Following Us usual practice, the Hilpp Motor Car corporation has in the past few months introduced into the production produc-tion of its present modelthe Series "R" a number of minor refinements in body and chassis design and construction. The new models are now on display at the H viand Motor company, distributors of Hupmobtles, Stearns-Knight and Stutz cars. These slight changes represent the endeavor en-deavor of Hupmobile engineers to perfect each part of the car to its highest efficiency effi-ciency or beauty. It if believed that the good taste of Hupmobile design should be far longer lived than one season or one year. The appearance of the present model embodies the essentials of permanent perma-nent style and good looks. An improved design steering gear of more substantial construction has been adopted, insuring maximum efficiency from this important feature. Slight alterations alter-ations have been made in front springs, increasing their usefulness and durability. A rearrangements of the exhaust and intake manifold insures Quick preheating of fuel and consequent Increase In efficiency. effi-ciency. A new design front axle, of stronger construction, is being used, with Gurney ball bearings. Changes have been made in material and design of the driving driv-ing pinion and ring gear. The Alemite tppe grease cup has been generally adopted for spring shackles, spindle bolts, etc. In this system the grease is forced by a grease-gun pressure of some 200 pounds to those parts requiring requir-ing lubrication. Grease can be forced through the spring bolts and to other spots so quickly that the entire car may be greased in twelve minutes. The general gen-eral condition, of "messiness" usually attendant at-tendant on turning down grease cups is completely eliminated. The elimination of possible body rattles or squeaks has been aided by changes in construction of the body cowl. . An improved im-proved type of windshield, in addition to being more rainproof, is also noiseless. The headlight support and brackets are arranged so as to permit quick adjustments adjust-ments sideways or up and down. The lamp bulb may easily be focused by an outside adjustment. Night driving is made more pleasant and safer by the case of these adjustments. Comfort ha's been increased by the addition ad-dition of one Inch to the depth of the front seat cushion and two inches to the height of the back of the front seat.
