U THOMAS LAID AT BEST Funeral Services Held at Richmond for Former Salt Lake Druggist. , Speal lo TM Tribune. RICHMOND, Utah, Nov. 1. Funeral services for A. A. Thomas, of Richmond, Rich-mond, were held 3'esterday in the Richmond Rich-mond tabernacle. Mr. Thomas died Wednesday after a prolonged illness which followed an attack of influenza. The services . were presided over bv Bishop Nelson, of the North ward. The opening prayer was given by Senator J. W. Funk. Speakers were Bishop McCarey, of the South ward, and Alma Merrill and George Budd, of Salt Lake. Musical selections were given by the Stoddard brothers, of Richmond; Mrs. Liziiie Thomas ' Edward, Miss Evangeline Evange-line Thomas, of Salt Lake, and Mrs. Lilaine Oliver Thomas, of Logan. IjV Before making his home in Richly Rich-ly mond, Mr. Thomas was associated with s the Johnsou-Pratt Drug company and the Neldon-Judson Drug company, of Salt Lake. For a long time Mr. Thomas was active in the druggists' association, and served one term as its president.' He had lived in Richmond for the last eighteen years, where he hadj served as town councilman and president of the Commercial club. He was also riianager of the opera house. Mr. Thomas was born in Carmarthenshire, Carmarthen-shire, South Wales. He came to Utah uith his parents in 1S78. He was a graduate of the old Salt Lake Hi"h school and the University of Utah. He was on a mission for' the L. D. S. church in Germany for three years. He is survived y his wife" Francis Faroes Thomas, and six children; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Thomas, ana three brothers and three sisters. Thd brothers and sisters are: Mrs. C'haYles T. S. Parsons, Mrs. John E. Pixton. Miss Gladys Thomas, and W. ,T. Thcjmas, of Salt Lake; M. D. Thomas. . of jjogan, and Major E. G. Thomas, of San Antonio, Tex. |
