Wyoming oil fields are attracting world-wide notice, according to a well-known well-known Halt Lake man, who returned yesterday yes-terday from Casper, Wyo., who said: Casper is the oil metropolis of "Wyoming "Wy-oming just now and Is one of the most talked -of places In the country. There are now between 12,000 to 15,-UoO 15,-UoO inhabitants where, I understand, there were 4000 a year ago. A few years ago it was the headquarters of a few sheep men today it is a bus tling, thriving town with splendid hotels and all modern conveniences. ' A large number of new buildings are being erected and, the town is crowded. Only one subject is discussed, and that is oil. Kverybody is Interested in oil and oil only. The large oil refineries of the Standard Oil and Midwest companies are the best indl- ' cation of the permanency of the oil fields about Casper. . The town is overflowing with capl-talists, capl-talists, geologists, oil experts and pro-moters pro-moters from all over the world. For Instance, there is Colonel Duke "Weir from London, Major W. W. Johnston from Alaska, men from San Francisco, Francis-co, capitalists from New York, and men interested in the oil business, especially from the oil states such as Pennsylvania, Ohio, Oklahoma, Colorado, Colo-rado, Indiana, Kansas and others. There are also a number of Salt Lake men now in the fields acquiring valuable holdings. They are all enthusiastic. en-thusiastic. I know nothing about the oil business, busi-ness, but I was impressed with the earnestness and enthusiasm of the 1 promoters and investors and with the wonderful possibilities of .the Wyoming Wyo-ming oil fields. Almost daily producing wells are brought in, and newly made millionaires are not uncommon in the "Wyoming oil fields. |
