Show PLAN TO EXPEDITE PASSAGE OF BILL President Urges Enactment of Insurance Insur-ance Measure at Earliest Fos- sible Moment. WASHINGTON. Sept. 15. Plans to expedite passage bv the senate of the soldiers' and sailors' insurance bill were completed today after Senator Martin, Democratic, ieader, received a communication from President Wilson urging its enactment before adjourn-J adjourn-J nient. I A senate finance subcommittee con-I con-I sist,ing of Senators Williams, Smith of j Georgia and Smoot was immediately appointed ap-pointed bv Chairman Simmons to "take j up the bill, which was passed bv the ! house last Thursdav without a di'ssent- ing vote. The subcommittee will begin I work Monday and later hold brief pub-: pub-: lie sessions at which insurance company com-pany representatives and others will be heard. Prompt committee action is planned and senate debate is expected to begin within a week. Senate leaders tonight predicted that even with time taken for passage of the insurance bill congress can adjourn between October 3 and 12.
