Show DE LACY SENT TO FEDERAL PRISON Harnedy, Another Eopp Conspirator, Is Also Sentenced to Jail Term. SAX FRANCISCO, Sept. lu. Law-renco Law-renco do Lacy, editor of a weekly publication, pub-lication, was sentenced iu the United States court to eighteen months' imprisonment im-prisonment at McNeil's island, Wash., penitentiary, and a fine of $5000, following fol-lowing his" recent conviction with two others of conspiracy to effect the escape es-cape of former German Consul General Franz Bopp, and E. II. von We hack, former vice consul, from a detention camp on Angel island. D. J. Harnedy, a shoe dealer, and William Mullane, a bartender, were each sentenced to one year in the county coun-ty jail and fined $1000. Motion for a new trial for the three was denied and notice of an appeal was made. Bopp and Yon Schack were interned as dangerous aliens after the declaration declara-tion of war. Both had previously been convicted of violation of United States neutrality. |
