Ever since tbe organization of Rochester as a producing camp, thero has been more or less activity in tho salo and tranBfor of stocks in productive properties, prop-erties, but those transactions havo been largely confined to local operators, who aro well informod as to relativo valuoa, with a corresponding knowlodgo of tho merits of tho various properties. Outside inquiries, and requests for information regarding Rochester stocks have increased so rapidly during tho past two mouths that a local stock ex chango was found to bo a necessity, and with that ond in view, a preliminary meeting was held at the office of Organ & Farris. Committees on membership and permanent per-manent organization wero appointed, with instructions to report at a second nicotine to bo held Monday, February Feb-ruary 23. The interesting fact was developed at this meeting that tho actual production pro-duction of tho Rochester district during tho past year, which was tho first year of tho camp's history, was somewhat, in excess of a half million dollars, this fig-uro fig-uro being based on actual shipments alone, without counting tho value of ore blocked out, ready for shipment, and oro placod on tho dumps for future use, tho value of which is full- equal to that of tho amount which has been 1 shipped. Tho sentiment expressed at the preliminary pre-liminary mooting was in favor of n weekly call, so that tho trading in stocks might be regularly and systematically syste-matically handled, pending such time when moro frequent sessions will be necessary. Tho owners and managers of the principal properties were present at the preliminary meeting, and aro represented represent-ed on tho "cominittoos appointed to perfect per-fect a permanent organization.
