Show FATE OF BAUCH A MATTER OF DOUBT EL PASO, Tex., Feb. 21. El Paso, after a da' and night thrilling with tho excitemont of news of the execution execu-tion of William S. Wed-nesda)'. Bauch disappeared from his cell last evening. This was discovered bv relatives rela-tives who reported the fact to Thomns D. Edwards, the American consul at, Juarez, when they went to tako bod-ding bod-ding and food to hint. Ho is believed to havo been shot. Of the Englishmen, one is said to be a ranchman named Curtis, from Now Mexico, and the other John Lawrence, chief engineer of the California Development De-velopment Compaq-, at Yuma, Cul. Samuel Stewart, known as Thompson, an English soldier of fortune, reported their disappearance. He said that they went to Juarez Wednesday to aid in the search for Benton, and were seen no more by himself or othor friends. Consul Edwards said tonight; that he has received both private and ollieial confirmation of the report that Bauch was takon to Chihuahua. A. cowbo3' named J. J. Baca, living on a ranch near El Paso, and who was released from tho Juarez lockup Thursday-, caused excitement tonight with a story that Bauch had been shot.
