Show Mm GAR SHOMPEIRIW The prominence of the six-cylinder motor was a feature of note at the automobile show during the past weok, and was commented upon by many who visited the showroom. One of the most popular exhibitions at the show was tho fix-cylinder display by the Tom Botter-nl Botter-nl Automobile company. In tho Bot-lorill Bot-lorill booth were two beautiful Piorco-Arrow Piorco-Arrow " sixes,' ' a light Hudson ''six" with a phaeton body and a light Hudson Hud-son "six" with a roadster body. Commenting upon the siX'C3'linder model showing made at tho automobile show during tho past week, Prank Bot-tcrill Bot-tcrill said j'esterda': In chocking the number of different dif-ferent makes of motor carp exhibited exhib-ited a very startling feature waa brought to light. There were twenty-one different makes of cars exhibited, ex-hibited, selling for above $1500. Of these twenty-one dif feront makes sixteen carB each of different manufacture man-ufacture exhibited six-cylinder and only fivo of tho total of twenty-one were equipped with four-cilinder four-cilinder motors. This would era-phasize era-phasize to anyone the prominenco the six-cylinder car has already obtained ob-tained and it is the belief not only among manufacturers, but many motor car owners that the six-cylinder six-cylinder is replacing tho four-cvl-lnder car faster than the four replaced re-placed the two. Only a very few or, tho standard manufacturers have tried to dodge tho popular demand de-mand for the six-cylinder motor and without the slightest question these manufacturers will bo forced into the six-cylindor field before tho end of the present year. From the standpoint of business dono at the show during tho past week it is by far the best that this city has ever seen and 1 believe that every dealer has benefited greatly and directly from tho local show. Tho attendance was very satisfactory and consisted of the vory best kind of people, people who aro interested in motor cars and prospective purchasers. I can W to you frankly that wo did moro business the opening day and night than during the entire period of the other shows that have been held in this city. "Wo not ouly secured se-cured a great many prospects', but seven cars were actually sold during dur-ing tho week and this was very gratifying indeed to us. The Hml-son Hml-son light six was one of the most talked of cars at tho show, as for the first time in this country the manufacturer has realized that there aro a great many people who aro willing to pay "a fair price for a thorough!- good car that is light, easily handled by any member mem-ber of the family, with plenty of seating capacity and that can be operated economical!', and the interest in-terest that was displayed in this car was simply tremendous. At about this time of the year each season manufacturers "and dealers comm'enco to talk about tho scarcity of cars, especially for 6pring delivery. A great many motor car owners ana prospective purchasers regard these scarcity statements with suspicion, but it might bo interesting to know that, overy car wo had on exhibit in tho show during tho past wook was borrowed for the purpose from tho purchasers of tho cars as wo absolutely ab-solutely have not a light Hudson in stock nor havo we had since tho delivery of theso cars' commenced. com-menced. The Piorcc-Arrow condition condi-tion is practically the same, and I would honestly advise any prospective prospec-tive purchaser who is contemplating contemplat-ing a atandard car for this coming season to tako his dealer into his confidence as soon as ho possibly can and advise him about when h'o will want delivery. That wo will havo a splendid year's business all of us thero ia not tho slightest question. , Ge Automobile Au-tomobile company. |
