As the result of differences which are said to exist between be-tween William Glasmann, the original Roosevelt supporter of this locality, and Stephon H. Love of Salt Lake, tho Weber county branch of the Progressive party is threatened with factional dis ruptlon. Led by several of thoso who have been prominent in the movomont since the inception of Rooseveltism, the "insurgent" insurgents apparently are in the majority when arrayod against Editor Glasmann and G. J. S. Abels, regularly chosen chairman of tho county coun-ty organization. With the holding of a Progressive meeting in the cily building this afternoon after-noon for the purpose of naming Weber county's delegates to the Salt Lake conference next Wednesday, Chairman Abels contends that the meeting was called by a uonauthoritative commit tee and without his knowledge or consent. con-sent. He intimates that in view of this action the delegates so chosen may bo contested on the floor of the convention. conven-tion. About forty members of tho Pro- fressivo party attended the mooting, oseph Rir'io acting as chairman. On the basis of one delegate for every twenty votes received oy Nephi Morris at tho 1012 election, tho meeting named 175 Weber county voters as delegates to the state .conference. Chairman Kirie declares that the delegates will go into the convention with the proper credentials to represent Wober county. |
