Show VICTORIA TO SHIP CM 0FJ0L0 ORE1 Shipment Is ExpecteH to' Run Closo to $75 a Tori. LEAD AND COPPER ALSO New Low-gracle Silver Is Found in Drift on 1000 Level. High-grade gold oro is by no meana uncommon in Tintio, but in most canes tho deposits of tho yollow motal are more or leas bunchy and as a genorai thing they aro not permanent, according accord-ing to the Eureka Reporter, Tho Victoria Vic-toria mine, howovor. scorns to bo an exception to this rule as the management manage-ment is now getting ready to send out a carload lot in which thero is practically practi-cally nothing but gold, and which is expected to run close to $75 por ton. An ordinary carload shipment of thin oro should bring the company a chock for $3500. At tho present timo there aro two placos in tho mino whero this high-grado high-grado ore can be secured. Tho deposits depos-its aro' hy no means large, but thoy havo some of tho earmarks of permanency, perma-nency, and thero ib no reason io bo-lieyo bo-lieyo that tho shipment which is now being placed in readiness for transportation transpor-tation to tho smelter will bo tho last in fact, it is almost safe to predict nnothor ono containing about tho same character of ore. Nor is this tho only high-grado oro that the mino is producing, pro-ducing, as two cars of high-grado load and another of copper will probably bo sent out within tho nexfc fow wooks. Thcso four care, tho two of lead, one of gold and tho other of copper, should .bring in money enough to clip off a protty good chunk of tho Victoria's overdraft. Condition Interesting on 1000. Superintendent Shea is now doing a very interesting piece of development on the 1000 level of the Victoria and it will not be at all surprising if ho succeeds in opening a new deposit of silver ore. Tho work on the 1000 is off toward the north, in the vicinity of-tho of-tho line separating this mine from tho Eaglo & Blue Bell. After drifting for some little distanco in that direction an east and west break was encounterod which has beon prospected to somo os-tont os-tont in both directions. Tho showing in tho east drift looked so promising that a raiso was started a few days ago and a report from tho mine today Indicates that low-grado silvor ore is now coming in. For the present tho west drift has been stopped in order that more attontion may bo given the other work whero conditions appear to be about right for tho opening of oro of commercial grade. Eureka Hill Ore Runs High. The Clark-Ohristopherson leaso at the Euroka Hill mine 19 now producing about fifty tons of high-grado silver-lead silver-lead oro a month. It is rather difiicult to get correct figures regarding this oro, but it is generally understood hero that somo of tho recent shipments have brought better than $50 por ton, tho last going near $60 per ton. Messrs. Clark and Ohristopherson have a lease upon a strip of ground which is near tho lino dividing the Centennial Eureka Eure-ka and tho Eureka Hill and as tho hoist of tho latter company is not in operation oper-ation at the present time their ore is reached in a roundabout manner, and this means rather expensive mining. Howover, with tho present showing of high-grade ore tho leaso is a very profitable profit-able one. It is said that there is a considerable considera-ble quantity of low-grade oro in the old workings of the Eureka Hill mine, and there BCems to bo a probabilitj' of tho mino being roopencd, in fact a company may bo formed by local mining min-ing men for the purposo of taking over tho entire mino on a leaso. Before tho mine could be reopened it would no doubt be necessary to repair tho shaft, and this might be an expensive undertaking. Conditions have changed greatly since the Eureka Hill was in operation and much of tho low-grado ore which could not be handled profitably profit-ably several years ago would now bo good for a small revenue. Victor Con. to Ship Copper. JoHoph Treloar and Frank B. Kimball, who have a leaso on a portion of the Victor Consolidated mine at Mammoth, will bo on the market next week with a very nico shipment of coppor oro. This consignment of oro will contain .about forty tons wh'ich was mined in the old Boss Tweed section of the Victor property, prop-erty, and according to an assay which was made a few days ago, should carry about 7 per cent copper and at leas't eight ounces in silver. Tho tenuis will J start hauling tho oro to 'the railroad at once, the wagon road having again been opened to travel. .Mr. Treloar I says that while tho bunch of oro upon which work is being done is Tathcr small one, it appears to bo holding out well and it will no doubt bo possible to get out other shipments. ; No other leasing isr being done at the Victor mino at the prosenf. time.
