Show CAN FACTORY ASSURED. Work on ' Big Structure at Ogden Is Soon to Be Started, Special to The Tribune. OGDOLN". Feb. 21. In accordance with the decision announced yesterday to engage en-gage in early construction work on the large factory to" be erected by the Ameri-, Ameri-, can Can company in this city, representatives representa-tives of tho company's chief engineer, N. M. Ioney, are in Ogden to make the preliminary Investigations. Early next week the workmen will drive test holes at the site of tho proposed factory for tho purpose of ascertaining the nature of the strata upon which the foundations founda-tions must bo built. Engineer Loney and R. H. Drake, freight traffic engineer of tho big -com-,pany, will return to this city from Salt Lake on Monday to remain hero for several sev-eral weeks while working out tho details de-tails of construction. Tho plans and specifications for the local plant will be duplicates of another factory recently built by the company and will bo sent hero from tho east. All contracts for materials an1 construction work, how-over, how-over, will be awarded to local firms. 'Prices have already been obtained on brick, cement, steel, lumber and other materials. |
