Show DR. MENZIES .7. MAC-I FARLANE, formerly of St. George, Utah, who has been appointed resident physician at St. Marks hospital. GOES TO ST. MARK'S Dr. Macfarlane Graduates in East and Accepts Salt Lake Position. Dr. Mcnzies J. Macfarlane, who, after aft-er being graduated from the Jefferson Medical college, of Philadelphia, will take an appointive position as resident resi-dent doctor of St. Mark's hospital in Salt Lake. Dr. Macfarlauo is a prod1-uct prod1-uct of Utah's "Dixie." He was bom and reared in St. George, and after being graduated from the branch normal school at Cedar Ce-dar City in 1902 passed several years as a teacher in the public schools of St. George. After His St. Goorge teaching experience, experi-ence, Dr. Macfarlane attended the University Uni-versity of Utah in 1905 and 1906. Later, ho waa instructor in biology in tho pedar City branch normal school, holding this position three years. The first year 01 his medical courso was taken at tho Universit3' of Utah and his last three at Jefferson Medical college. col-lege. In tho latter institution the Utah man hns made a record for ex-coptional ex-coptional abilitj'. In a civil service examination for resident physician of ! the Philadelphia General hospital, ho was awarded second place in a competition compe-tition with 187 men from various eastern east-ern colleges. Dr. Macfarlane will pass a year in St. Mark's hospital before entering private -practice. |
