Show ELECTRIC POB PROBLEM SOLVED "It is not a stretch of tho imagination imagina-tion to say that, electric vehicles will in four, years bo as popular as the gasollno vehicle today," says T. II. McGiehan, general manager of the Motz Tire & Rubber company, Akron, Ohio. "With the coming of good road6 and tho standardization of batteries, it will bo no unusual thing for owners of electric elec-tric tire vehicles to mako long tours. Trips over 100 miles in length""are being be-ing made today on ono charge. "Conservation of power is, of course, the main factor in tho maintenance ot an electric car. Few people realize tho bearing tire efficiency has -upon the saving of the battery charge. Every time a solid tire strikes a road obstruction, obstruc-tion, such as a stono, it takes added power to lift the car over it. But when the tire absorbs tho shock, all the power is used in carrying the car in an onward instead of an upward direction. Tho power-saving properties of the Motz tpe of cushion construction is one of the main reasons. I believe, win-over win-over 90 per cent of the electric car manufacturers have adopted the Motz as regular equipment for their 1913 pleasure cars." |
