It came from Undo Sam and went to the Alco factory after an exhaustive tost of motor "trucks lasting, for nearly a .year. According to information received ox-pert ox-pert engineers of the government tried all the leading trucks built and finally decided upon tho Alco as tho best in I which to invest the good dollars of Uncle Sam. The order calls for eighty large Alco trucks. They nro all, of the three and a half ton type and will be used to transport mails in and about t New York City. It is explained this is but the beginning of the policy on tho part of the government to ndopt the truck for other cities. These trucks cost the government over a quarter of a million dollars, and it is claimed this is the i largest amount ever invested in motor trucks at one time. Manager A. L. Taj-lor declares this is the "best advertisement tho Alco track ever received. The fact that it was in competition with the leading trucks in the market, says Taylor, and then won out over all on the advice of expert engineers, ought to convince the average truck user that the Alco had merits which could, not be overlooked. Mr. Taylor says ibis is also bound to give confidence to the local Alc( truck users who pinned their faith in the Aleo by buying them in competition with all other trucks sold in the city. |
