Show KAISER COMPLETES 25TH AM OF REIGN BERLIN, June 14. The jubilee fes-tivities fes-tivities in connection with the completion comple-tion tomorrow of the twenty-fifth year of Emperor William's reign aro getting in full Ewing throughout the empire. The Berlin newspapers print columns of dispatches today regarding celebrations celebra-tions being held in the cities of Germany Ger-many and abroad. Amnesties have been granted by the sovereigns of the various German states and endowments amounting to millions of dollars have been bestowed 011 philanthropic institutions. The general gen-eral emphasis laid upon the peaceful character of the Germau emperor and his reign is tbe striking feature in a year or a billion mark military bill. This was summed up in a speech made by President Kaempf at a commemorative commemo-rative session today of the reichstag, which was attende'd bv the imperial chancellor, Dr. Von Berthmann-Hollweg and all ministers. The speaker referred to the emperor as the ''peace prince who, having in his hand tho mightiest instrument of war, used it not to pluck martial order or-der but to preserve the peace of the (iermans and tho world." At noon today the emperor received the Turkish embassador tq Germany, and Cardinal Von Kopp, who respectively respec-tively presented to his majesty the congratulations of the heads ot Mohammedan Mo-hammedan and Catholic worlds. WASHINGTON, June 14. Tn recognition recog-nition of the twenty-fifth anniversary of accession of Emperor William to the German throne, President Wilson today sent- -the emperor the following message: "In the sincere hope that, a long continuance con-tinuance of your majesty's peaceful reign may brine the great German people peo-ple increased blessing, I offer to vour majesty the cordial tolicitations of the government and people of the United States on this twenty-fifth anniversary of your majesty's accession and uiy personal good wishes for your majesty's majes-ty's welfare." |
