Show Swedish folk dancers who will assist in programme at Saltair Tuesday. With an elaborate programmo of sports, folk dances and tho spectacular and iinrpossive maypole dance as the features, the plans for tho outing of the public school children at Saltair on Tuesday have been completed. It is cxpectod that, fully 15,000 school children chil-dren will bo in attendance and the Saltair officials are making provisions accordingly. A special tram schedule sched-ule calling for trains cveiy forty-five minutes during the day from 9:30 o'clock in the morning until 1J o'clock nt night will be in effect with every train carrying special cars. A.t 1:15 a special train will carry the 800 children who will participate in the maypole danco In the hippodrome, a scries of contests con-tests will bo carried on during the day between teams representing the various schools. Those contests include volley ball and indoor baseball for the girls and basketball for the boys with prizes for tho winning teams. Tho prizes are contributed by tho Western Arms & Sporting Goods company, who also donate do-nate a special prize for tho school having hav-ing the highest percentage of attendance attend-ance at Saltair that day. The prize consists of an entire baseball outfit for tho school team, ten uniforms, mask, bat, ball and catchor's glove. The contests and dancing programme will bo under tho direction of tho city school officials. The objects of tho outing arc to give the children a final picnic as the end of tho school year and to raise funds for tho N. ID. A. convention. |
