Show Anniversary Of Kiwanis Is Observed Locally Gordon Harmston, manager of the' Frontier Grill Cafe last Thursday Thurs-day was the guest speaker at the Kiwanis Club's observance of its forty-first anniversary. Subject of Mr. Harmston's address was "The Place of a Service Club in My Community," In addition to the program in keeping with the anniversary of Kiwanis International, members heard a discussion of the school building program that includes a new junior high school and an improved' im-proved' elementary school for Roosevelt. Leading the discussion was B. A. Jacoby, president of the Duchesne County Board of Education. Ed-ucation. Others representing the board were Clifton Mickelson, clerk, and Theron Leavitt, club member, who was in charge of the program. Orson Stevens,, president, conducted con-ducted the meeting and announced the club would hold a re-organiza tion meeting for Cub Scouting on Thursday, Feb. 2 at the Frontier Grill, He also reported the Kiwan-is-Ute Tribe kids' basketball' program pro-gram would include 10 teams from Roosevelt, or 10C youngsters from 8 to 13. |
