Show lew John Deere Tractor To Be Shown In Town A new John Deere Tractor the , "420," with approximately 20 per cent more power than the "40" Tractor which it replaces is being shown and demonstrated by Leavitt Equipment, as ' advertised adver-tised in this issue. The newly designed two-clyin-der, valve-in-head engine which accounts for the added power, is available in gasoline and all-fuel types. In the complete' "420" series, farmers are given a choice of eight new wheel-type models power rat ed 2-3-plow, and the 4- and 5-roller crawler models rated as 3-4-plow. On-the-farm tests have demonstrated' demon-strated' that this added power improves im-proves field operation of the new tractors, especially in the higher gears. It also provides more lug-, ging ability for heavier implements imple-ments and for larger belt and take-off equipment. A new cooling system with water wat-er pump and thermostat replaces the the'rmo-siphon system formerly used, and there are many modern refinement, including new speed-hour speed-hour meter (optional). The new "420" Tractors retain the same desirable comfort, convenience, con-venience, and operating "features of the "40" series, including deep spring-cushion seat, "live" Touch-o-matic hydraulic system, standard heavy-duty 3-point hitch with Load-and'-Depth Control, easier steering, smoother operating clutch, and independent disk-type, self -energizing brakes. Theron Leavitt announces that several new, larger-capacity working work-ing tools will be available for the "420" Tractors to take' advantage of the increased horsepower including in-cluding a 3-bottom pickup plow and 4-row cultivator. |
